Over a Century of Community Service
1886 – 2006
- The Bank was founded in 1870 by W. B Clarke
- It was known as the Banking House of W. B. Clarke and was located on the corner of 7 th and Washington Streets in Junction City where it is still located today.
- The Comptroller of the Currency granted the First National Bank of Junction City a banking charter on July 15, 1886.
- After a fire and demolition, the bank building was rebuilt on the same site in 1913.
- The Bank was given Trust Powers and became the First National Bank & Trust Co. in April 1978.
- The Motor Bank was opened in 1964 and torn down in 1999.
- The West Branch Bank was opened in 1976 and the Herington Branch in October, 1993.
- The Bank was purchased by Exchange Company January 15, 1999.
